I)                  Queer and feminist theories of justice

A first axe seeks to map the different feminist and queer (re)definitions and critiques of the notion of justice, and to question the place of this notion within these movements. This raises several research questions (which are not exhaustive) :

- What is the contribution of gender as an analytical category to justice theory ? Is justice understood as a moral value a "tool" able to challenge patriarchal domination ?

- What are the conceptualizations of justice within political movements which mobilize the concept of gender ? Is there a dialogue or synthesis between these different conceptions of justice ?

II)               What are the contributions of critical legal studies regarding the relationship between institutional justice and the notion of justice ?

This second axis of research is focused on the reception of feminist and queer critiques within legal studies. In the wake of feminist debates on the role of the state, it seeks to question the place of the rule of law and liberal constitutionalism :

- What is the feminist critique of justice and the feminist theory of the state? Is the law a resource or an obstacle in the fight against injustice ?

- Is rule of law inherently patriarchal ? Does gender as an analytic category help to resolve the impasses in thinking about law ?

- What is the place of fundamental rights and the "rhetoric of rights" within the feminist, queer and anti-racist movements today ?

III)             Is Justice a useful concept for understanding queer, feminist and anti-racist movements ?

Is it possible to use the notion of justice to deepen the comprehension of political movements mobilizing gender as a political concept ? More specifically, does the concept of justice allow us to better identify the sources of conflict within movements claiming to be feminist ?

This third axis therefore raises several (non-exhaustive) research questions :

-           What is the contribution of the notion of Justice to think, classify, map the movements politically mobilizing the concept of gender ? What are the representations of justice within these movements ?

-          How can we think about the conflicts and criticisms "internal" to feminist, queer and anti-racist movements drawing from justice ?
